No plans to speak of Presidents Day weekend? Why not venture across the river and check out what Boston has to offer? Here are some suggestions on how to spend those precious days off.

Because you just cashed your refund check and the Forum Café is closed… For those dessert lovers, you must try the ‘Viennese Dessert Buffet’ at the Four Season’s Bristol Lounge.

The buffet features three sumptuous hours of countless, first rate delicacies coupled with live jazz and elegant atmosphere. Pastry Chefs man the buffet for made-to-order crepes amongst other decadent treats.

The buffet is open from 9pm- 12am on Friday and Saturday nights. Reservations are not available, so go early to avoid a wait. The Bristol lounge is located on the first floor of the hotel. $24/pp. 200 Boylston Street, (617) 338-4400. Take the Green Line to ‘Arlington’.

For an unparalleled view of the city, check out the Top of the Hub restaurant located on the 52nd floor of the Prudential Building.

With floor-to-ceiling windows surrounding the entire dining room, you’ll be able to take in the city skyline while enjoying live jazz and romantic décor. The food is good, but the lounge is more popular among the younger crowd for cocktails and dessert.

Confirm reservations or take your chances at the lounge. 800 Boylston Street. (617) 536-1775. Take the Green line ‘E’ train to Prudential.

Because you need to indulge your creative side… Anyone interested in hitting the symphony scene should check out the ‘Boston Modern Orchestra Project’ at Jordan Hall.

The BMOP is featuring a ‘Minimalism’ musical program on Friday February 18 at 8pm. $10 buys you a student ticket which can be purchased online at www.bmop.org. 30 Gainsborough St. (617) 363-0396. Take the Green line ‘E’ train to Symphony.

If you haven’t already done so, head over to the Charles Playhouse for a dose of the Blue Man Group. The dialogue - free production includes
tribal rock music, captain crunch, and a ton of crepe paper.

Shows are at 7pm on Friday, 4, 7, and 10pm on Saturday, and 2 or 5pm on Sunday. On a slow night, tickets are available at the box office for a $25 student rate, but check out BOSTIX (www.artsboston.org/ bostix.cfm) for ½ price tickets if student discounts are unavailable. BOSTIX tickets can be purchased beginning at 11am at their booth in Copley Square. 74 Warrenton St. (617) 931-2787. Green line to Boylston.

Because you are a KSG student… The Improv Assylum is featuring a new show entitled ‘Lies, ½ Truths, and the American Way’. The show features a prison duet with Martha Stewart, and other satire surrounding ‘passing the blame in American politics’.

Always a great time, the show runs $20 for Fridays 8 & 10pm, and Saturdays 8pm and 10pm shows. Check BOSTIX for ½ price tickets. Arrive 30 minutes prior to showtime, and sit in the front rows if you enjoy interacting with the performers. 216 Hanover Street in the North End. (617) 263-6887. Green line to Government Center.

Because you can go out on Sunday without feeling guilty…oh wait, you already do that… Where else can you get 117 beers on tap and 400 by the bottle, plus a free Tex-Mex buffet on a Sunday night?

None other than the Sunset Grill and Tap in Allston. The complimentary “midnight madness” buffet on Sunday nights runs from 12am-1am. There are plenty of bars on the Brighton Ave. strip to hit up before and after the buffet, especially ‘Big City’ which is right next door and also boasts an extensive beer selection. If you like Guinness and blueberry ale, try a ‘Black and Blue’. 130 Brighton Ave. (617) 254-1331. Take the Green line ‘B’ train or the 66 Bus from Harvard Square.
